Sunday afternoon in Houston was expected to be little more than an opportunity for senior guard Keith Hornsby to ease himself into back into action in his first game back from a hernia surgery.
But with his team on the ropes against the Houston Cougars, and in obvious need of a major jolt, the LSU basketball team’s sharpshooting wingman had no other choice but to step in and deliver a dominant performance that the Tigers desperately needed.
Hornsby’s performance was not quite enough for the Bayou Bengals, however, as they were handed their fourth loss in the past five games, this time to the tune of a 105-98 overtime defeat.
