For the first time since their January 5th upset of the Kentucky Wildcats, the LSU basketball team took a lead into halftime of their Tuesday night matchup with the Georgia Bulldogs.
The Tigers found their touch from long-range down the stretch, and held off a last-minute Georgia comeback attempt to secure an 89-85 victory, sending a packed house at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center home happy.
The win moved LSU into sole possession of second place in the SEC, as Florida lost on the road to Vanderbilt and Kentucky remained idle.
Freshman forward Ben Simmons and Junior guard Tim Quarterman led the team in scoring with 22 points each.
