LSU basketball goes winless at Legends Classic (highlights)

The LSU basketball team arrived in Brooklyn earlier this week riding high on momentum.

But after steamrolling through the first three games of the 2015-2016 season with a trio of double-digit victories, the Tigers went winless at this week’s Legends Classic.

LSU fell to the Marquette Golden Eagles on Monday in the Legends Classic semifinals, with a Marquette free throw in the final moments sealing a narrow 81-80 victory for the Golden Eagles.

Tuesday marked an opportunity for the Tigers to redeem themselves in the tournament’s consolation game. Unfortunately for the Bayou Bengals, foul trouble for freshman sensation Ben Simmons and untimely mental mistakes were too much to overcome, as the North Carolina State Wolfpack handed LSU an 83-72 defeat.
