University Lab power forward Wayde Sims will follow in his father Wayne's footsteps and play his college ball at LSU, the 2016 prospect announced on Sunday.
The 6-foot-6, 210-pound Sims averaged 17.6 points, 9.5 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game last season while leading the Cubs to a second consecutive state championship. He also shot 62.8 percent from the field.
Sims is rated as a three-star prospect by Rivals and could play either small forward or power forward at the next level.
He continued his stellar play this spring when he led the Louisiana Elite 17U squad with averages of 15.
