Four days after a monumental win over the No. 9 Kentucky Wildcats, the LSU basketball team reminded fans why they have been so frustrating to watch this season, losing 62-68 to the struggling Florida Gators on the road.
Freshman forward Ben Simmons delivered a monstrous offense performance, recording 25 points and 17 rebounds, a career-high. Simmons would also turn the ball over eight times in the second half, however, which played a large role in the Tigers’ downfall.
LSU never led during the game, trailing for all but 20 seconds. Hornsby was the only other player to score in double-figures for the Tigers, as the senior guard recorded 10 points.
