The No. 5 LSU baseball team survived the Baton Rouge regional, earning the right to host Coastal Carolina in the NCAA Baton Rouge Super Regional this weekend.
The Tigers (45-19) will square off against the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers in Game 1 tonight at Alex Box Stadium at 8:00pm.
The No. 11 Chanticleers (47-16) emerged victorious from the Raleigh Regional last weekend in dramatic fashion, earning the program’s third Super Regional berth in school history.
LSU is making its 12th Super Regional appearance this weekend (the super regional format debuted in 1999), which is tied with Cal State Fullerton, Miami and South Carolina for the second-most Super-Regional berths.
