The fans that piled into Alex Box Stadium for the opener of the 2016 LSU baseball season on Friday night were treated to a thriller as the Tigers erased two different two-run deficits in the late innings on their way to a 6-5 win in 12 innings. LSU came away with the win in the bottom of the 12th on a walkoff single by JUCO transfer Jordan Romero.
The Tigers trailed 3-1 to start the bottom of the eighth before Kramer Robertson doubled to right-center. He later scored on a ground ball to first by Jake Fraley to cut the Cincinnati lead to 3-2.
