The inevitable reconstruction of the LSU baseball roster is slowly starting to take shape. Two familiar faces exited this week, with a new wave of talent on the way soon.
Sophomore infielder Grayson Byrd and junior infielder Danny Zardon will both transfer out, Tigers coach Paul Mainieri said Monday night.
That opened up two spots and one was quickly filled when former Jesuit standout Trent Forshag was added to the incoming recruiting class.
With Byrd and especially Zardon, the numbers crunch of a revamped roster among the position players and what figures to be as wide-open a battle for starting jobs as any time in Mainieri's 10-year tenure.
