One of the LSU baseball team’s more intriguing midweek matchups of the season unfolded at Alex Box Stadium on Wednesday night. The Tigers (13-3, 0-0 SEC) defeated New Orleans (13-4, 2-1 Southland), coached by former LSU star Blake Dean, by a score of 9-4. The win was LSU’s ninth in the last 10 games.
After being locked in a 2-2 tie, LSU put up three runs in the fifth to take a lead that they never relinquished. Jordan Romero delivered the hit that broke the tie, driving in two runs with a single before Chris Reid added an RBI single of his own.
