One thing about the LSU baseball series at Mississippi State is clear -- that two wins gives the Tigers the SEC West championship. Anything short of that complicates things.
LSU can finish anywhere between first and fifth in the SEC, meaning it can secure one of the four top seeds that would assure it a first-round bye for the conference tournament and not have to play until Wednesday, or it could be forced into an elimination game Tuesday.
That would be a worst-case scenario for the Tigers.
"You just never know what's going to happen on the last weekend everywhere," LSU coach Paul Mainieri said.
