LSU has awarded scholarships to walk-on football players Jonathan Rucker and Caleb Lewis, both players said Friday on Twitter.

Rucker is a fifth-year senior linebacker from Ponchatoula who played the last two season primarily on special teams, and LSU coach Ed Orgeron said Thursday that Rucker will also be in the linebacker rotation.

Lewis, a 6-foot-4 sophomore from Lakeland, Fla., has not played in a game for the Tigers.

The scholarship spots came open when quarterback Lindsey Scott Jr. and Maea Teuhema decided to transfer.
