Matt Riser was a first-year college assistant coach the last time Southeastern beat LSU. It was a midweek game in 2008.
Now after a 12-6 NCAA Regional victory against Rice late Friday, Riser believes his program could be near a turning point.
"It's our third time being here," Riser said. "It's not an accomplishment being here anymore. One day little brother grows up and becomes a man."
Southeastern will play a winners' bracket game against LSU at 7 p.m. Saturday in Alex Box Stadium. The winner will be one win away from advancing to a Super Regional -- that would be a first for Southeastern.
