Whatever LSU was trying to do to build some momentum heading into the conference tournament, it failed spectacularly on the road at Arkansas tonight as poor shooting and tremendous foul trouble doomed the Tigers to a 90-99 loss that was never close. LSU trailed by as much as 23 points in the 2nd half.
LSU senior guard Skylar Mays was the only Tiger to make a splash offensively, with 28 points on 7-for-17 shooting and 10-for-11 from the line. Javonte Smart and Trendon Watford added 14 points each.
The Tigers just never seemed to be in the game and weren’t able to defend or score well for most of it, especially in the first half.
