As we learned Sunday, Saturday night’s 18-13 loss to Auburn was the end for LSU coach Les Miles. And it comes with quite a large dose of irony.
Over the years, we have seen Miles and his staff botch end-of-game situations only to be bailed out by Fate or Luck. I will never forget Auburn at LSU in 2007. With time running out, LSU trailed 24-23 and was in field-goal range at Auburn’s 23. But instead of managing the clock, Miles let it run down to the final seconds and Matt Flynn threw a touchdown to Demetrius Byrd in the corner of the end zone.
