It appears as though Les Miles’ luck has run out. He has misplaced his horseshoe. He has gone to the rabbit’s foot one time too many. That four-leaf clover has shriveled. Cloudy skies are masking the shooting stars.
What else could explain Saturday’s ending in LSU’s 18-13 loss at Auburn? Trailing by five with one second to play, quarterback Danny Etling found D.J. Chark in the end zone to break the home team’s heart and make Miles a walk-off winner. Only Lady Luck was with the home Tigers this time.
Unlike when Miles defied the clock in 2007 against Auburn with a gutsy touchdown pass from Matt Flynn to Demetrius Byrd, this one would not stand.
