Les Miles woke up November 28 not knowing if it would be his final day as LSU’s football coach. As we now know, Miles kept his job. And with the fervor with which he has approached this offseason, it looks as if he intends on stalking the sideline in Death Valley for a lot longer.
The weekend brought two more staff changes in an already-active offseason.
Miles does not fire assistants. That is, there never will be a news release from the school announcing an assistant has been terminated without cause. Miles prefers a clean break, which prevents those ugly red marks on a coach’s résumé.
