The college career of LSU running back Leonard Fournette is coming to an end one game earlier than expected.
Fournette said Friday that he won’t play in the Citrus Bowl against Louisville, instead turning his attention to getting healthy for the NFL draft. Since Fournette has already announced his intention to leave LSU for the draft, the news means his three-year football career in Baton Rouge is over.
Fournette finishes with 3,830 rushing yards – 1,034 as a freshman in 2014, 1,953 last season and 843 in 2016 – and 40 rushing touchdowns. He is fourth in LSU in rushing and tied for third in rushing TDs.
