Leonard Fournette had a rather non-Leonard Fournette first half performance against the South Carolina Gamecocks on Saturday.
LSU’s star running back compiled just 49 rushing yards on 3.3 yards per carry through two quarters, after setting an SEC record with three consecutive 200-yard performances during the past three weeks.
Fortunately for the Bayou Bengals, Fournette got back to his old self, breaking off an 87-yard touchdown run on his second carry of the third quarter. With incredible blocking and a magnificent cut in the secondary, the sophomore back galloped to the end zone untouched.
What a way for Leonard Fournette to break 1,000 rush yards for the season.
