Fresh off a plane from a five-day trade mission to Cuba, Gov. John Bel Edwards was asked to weigh in on the cancellation of the LSU-Florida football game this weekend.
"I don't know what the solution is going to be," Edwards said at a Friday night press conference (Oct. 7) held outside the customs office at the New Orleans airport.
The governor was out of the country when the game was canceled Thursday. The University of Florida had been unwilling to move the Southeastern Conference game from Gainesville in spite of a hurricane bearing down on its state.
