Fresh off a pair of important wins over Mississippi State and Tennessee, LSU point guard Javonte Smart and shooting guard Cameron Thomas were honored by the SEC as players of the week.
Smart was named the SEC’s player of the week for the first time this season, while Thomas was named the freshman of the week for the third time.
Smart had one of the best weeks of his LSU career last week. Against Mississippi State, Smart scored 22 points and handed out 11 assists; and Smart, for the third year in a row, was integral in LSU beating Tennessee, scoring 20 points.
