Prior to the NFL draft combine, the popular rumor was that Joe Burrow didn’t want to play for the Cincinnati Bengals.
There wasn’t any real basis for the rumor. It started mostly because of some comments made by former Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer about Cincinnati not wanting to win.
Palmer’s brother, Jordan, worked out with Burrow during the offseason.
Talking heads took Palmer’s comments and ran with them, creating a bizarre narrative that Burrow had to confront at the combine.
(To his credit, Palmer recently said he never tried to talk Burrow out of playing for Cincy.
