LSU took another bad beat on National Signing Day with the announcement that Louisiana’s top defensive tackle, Ishmael Sopsher, will sign with Alabama.
A composite four-star prospect out of Amite, La., Sopsher’s recruitment was hotly contested between the Tigers and the Tide, who have Amite native Devonta Smith on the roster, along with defensive coordinator Pete Golding and staff member Sam Petito.
Sopsher is the fourth-ranked defensive tackle in the country, and the No. 3 prospect in the state of Louisiana for the class of 2019.
