Instant Reactions: LSU 24, Vanderbilt 17

Sixth-year senior Josh Williams ran for 90 tough yards and two touchdowns to help the Tigers get a 24-17 win over a good Vanderbilt Commodores team.

Vandy stunned the Tiger Stadium crowd with a 63-yard touchdown pass on their first offensive snap, but didn’t reach the end zone again until their final snap. The LSU offense put together scoring drives of 90, 80, 77 and 74 yards before going 66 yards in 11 plays to ice the game.

Garrett Nussmeier had an excellent game, going 28/37 for 332 yards with 1 TD and 0 INTs. He had two more touchdown-worthy throws early in the fourth, but Kyren Lacy and Aaron Anderson couldn’t hang on.
