Carley Hoover recorded her third career no hitter in LSU’s 4-0 victory over South Alabama Tuesday night in the final non-conference game of the regular season.
The senior LSU ace retired the first 14 batters she faced, six of which came via strikeout, with the first batter reaching on a Becca Schulte error. Hoover would issue one walk in the sixth and one in the seventh. In total she would strikeout eight on the evening. Tuesday’s victory also was Hoovers eighth shutout of the season.
LSU’s offense remained dormant for most of the game. In the sixth inning, Emily Griggs would double and Amanda Doyle would be intentionally walked.
