The LSU football team may be on a bye but the Tigers made news on the recruiting trail adding four-star safety Derrick Davis Jr. to its 2021 class.
Davis, out of Monroeville, Pa., picked the Tigers over the hometown Pitt Panthers, Ohio State Buckeyes, Penn State Nittany Lions and Georgia Bulldogs among others. He is a top-55 player nationally and the No. 2 safety in the 2021 class.
“I just feel like that is the perfect place for me,” Davis told 247Sports, who broke the news first. “It reminded me of home. The staff really showed a lot of love toward me and my family.
