Now he’s readying for the NFL draft later this month.
Gridironnow’s Amanda Borges looks at the pros and cons of Mills as an NFL draft prospect.
Mills (6 feet 0, 191 pounds) started at corner in his first two seasons at LSU, including as a true freshman in 2012. He moved to safety as a junior in 2014 and finished his career with 43 starts. That’s 43 starts in a talented secondary for a high-level defense, and that in itself is an impressive selling point. Mills had six picks, 15 pass breakups and four sacks in his career, and showed an ability to roam at free safety, play corner in a man-heavy scheme and serve as a nickel corner and cover the slot.
