GN draft decisions: LSU OT Jerald Hawkins

Offensive tackle Jerald Hawkins was the only LSU underclassman to enter the 2016 NFL draft, but while he is an intriguing prospect, he is far from a sure thing.

Hawkins started at right tackle for the Tigers in 2013 (as a redshirt freshman) and ’14, then started on the left side in 2015.

Gridironnow.com’s Amanda Borges discusses the pros and cons of Hawkins as an NFL prospect.

At his best, Hawkins (6 feet 6, 305 pounds) is a good pass protector and solid run blocker. Scouts like his initial quickness and his natural lateral movements in pass protection.
