When you beat a top-10 opponent in an overtime thriller people tend to notice and three of LSU’s best players were recognized by the SEC for their efforts against Ole Miss.
Garrett Nussmeier was named the SEC’s Offensive Player of the week while Whit Weeks was named the Defensive Player of the Week; Bradyn Swinson, once again, was named the league’s Defensive Lineman of the Week.
Nussmeier’s more than deserving of the honor, raw boxscore numbers be damned. Yes he completed less than half of his passes—43 percent to be exact—and yes he threw two interceptions, but context matters and when the game mattered most, Nuss delivered.
