The rumors became hot and heavy overnight and the news dropped late this morning — LSU is moving on from athletic director Joe Alleva, transitioning him to “a new role as special assistant to the president for donor relations,” after 11 years.
Basically, that’s code for a settlement on the final year of Alleva’s contract, which runs until the summer of 2020.
We’ll have time for an epitaph on Alleva’s tenure, but it didn’t take long for reports to link the opening to Texas A&M AD Scott Woodward. And soon after that, reports that a deal is done — first from TexAgs.
