Fournette Earns Third-Straight SEC POW Award

BATON ROUGE – LSU running back Leonard Fournette has been named the Southeastern Conference Player of the Week for a third consecutive week, the league office announced on Monday.

Fournette, who leads the nation in rushing with 210.3 yards per game, set a career-high with 244 rushing yards and a pair of touchdowns in LSU’s 34-24 win over Syracuse. The Orange went into the LSU game ranked third in the nation in rushing defense, allowing 46.7 yards per contest.

Fournette became the first player in LSU history to rush for 200 or more yards in back-to-back games.
