Good news for fans of the Arizona Cardinals and Tyrann Mathieu: The Honey Badger is back.
According to the Arizona Republic, the former LSU defensive back returned to practice with the Arizona Cardinals this week. Mathieu’s return came much earlier than expected, after a torn anterior cruciate ligament ended his season early last December. In fact, he rejoined practice only about eight months after the initial injury.
Mathieu, who converted to safety in the NFL under Cardinals coach Bruce Arians, has sustained two ACL injuries in just under three years. He also tore his ACL – as well as his LCL – in his left knee in December 2013.
