Former LSU running back Spencer Ware was deemed to have outplayed the value of his contract with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2016, making him a fan-vote winner for the Top Value Performer award.
The award, sponsored by consumer electronics company Vizio, went to the top vote-getter from a pool of five candidates that included New Orleans Saints receiver Michael Thomas.
Ware signed a two-year contract extension through 2018 worth up to $3.6 million before the 2016 season, and he followed with more than 1,300 yards from scrimmage, as he rushed for 921 yards and three touchdowns, and caught 33 passes for 442 yards and two scores.
