BATON ROUGE, La. — Nearly 10 years after helping LSU win the 2007 BCS national championship, Matt Flynn is not quite done playing football, but he recognizes the end is near. Now the father of a 1-year-old son, Flynn did not play football in 2016 — his first season away from the game since childhood.
“Definitely a transition year for me,” Flynn said Thursday on my radio show. “Kind of bittersweet. Wasn’t playing football, but I got to spend a lot of time with my family.
“Certainly you have that love and that drive, and you miss football and the everyday grind of it and the competition aspect of it and the team camaraderie.
