Houston Astros relief pitcher Will Harris, who helped lead LSU to the 2003 and 2004 College World Series, has been selected to play for the American League in the 2016 Major League Baseball All-Star Game on July 12 in San Diego.
Harris, who lettered four seasons at LSU (2003-06), becomes the 10th former Fighting Tiger to earn an All-Star Game invitation. LSU has had five former players selected for the midsummer classic since 2008.
Harris has made 36 relief appearances this season for the Astros, posting a 0.74 ERA in 36.2 innings with 36 strikeouts and eight saves.
