HOUSTON -- While Ed Orgeron works to secure the future of LSU football on National Signing Day, one of his former bosses offered praise this week of the Tigers' head coach.
Orgeron joined Jimmy Johnson's staff in 1988 with the Miami Hurricanes, working under him for a year before Johnson left to become head coach of the Dallas Cowboys.
But, the two have maintained a relationship through the years, and when LSU was deciding on which coach would replace Les Miles last year, Johnson reached out to athletics director Joe Alleva on behalf of Orgeron.
