Eight Former Tigers on MLB Opening Day Rosters

BATON ROUGE, La. – Eight former LSU players appear on Major League Baseball rosters as teams open the 2020 MLB season on Thursday and Friday.

Former Tigers appearing on MLB rosters include infielder Alex Bregman (Astros), infielder DJ LeMahieu (Yankees), pitcher Aaron Nola (Phillies), catcher Austin Nola (Mariners), pitcher Will Harris (Nationals), pitcher Kevin Gausman (Giants), outfielder JaCoby Jones (Tigers) and outfielder Andrew Stevenson (Nationals).

Bregman played at LSU from 2013 through 2015 and led the Tigers to two College World Series appearances. The No. 2 overall selection by the Astros in the 2015 MLB Draft, Bregman was a two-time first-team all-American at LSU, and he was named the recipient of the 2013 Brooks Wallace Award as the nation's best shortstop.
