BATON ROUGE, La. – Many college football teams avoid full-contact special teams work in their spring games to limit the possibility for injuries.
Surely that was part of LSU coach Ed Orgeron’s thinking while minimizing the kicking game in Saturday’s spring game, but he had another motive, too.
“We’ve got a new kicking scheme,” Orgeron said. “I don’t want to show anything that [opponents] don’t know about, so that’s the reason we didn’t line up with a kickoff team or kickoff return team or punt formation.”
