Here’s more good news for LSU fans: Just in time for the finishing stretch, Derrius Guice is getting back to his devastating best.
Coach Ed Orgeron said Guice is in his best condition of the season during the SEC coaches’ teleconference Wednesday. Orgeron said Guice is “the healthiest he’s been” and that Guice began returning to full strength around the Ole Miss game, a 40-24 Tigers victory on October 21.
The numbers bear that out: Guice, the SEC’s leading rusher during the 2016 season, clearly is trending in the right direction. Because of injury, Guice gained just 14 yards against Syracuse and didn’t play at all in the home loss to Troy.
