So, Leonard Fournette will skip LSU’s bowl game just because he wanted to get ready for the NFL draft? New Tigers coach Ed Orgeron says it’s not quite that simple.
During his final news conference Thursday before the Tigers depart for the Citrus Bowl, Orgeron said Fournette’s ankle injury was the primary reason for Fournette’s decision.
“I know if Leonard was 100 percent, he’d be playing with us. No question,” Orgeron said.
Fournette announced December 16 that he would skip the Citrus Bowl, thus ending his LSU career.
Fournette had suffered from an ankle injury during the season.
