LSU running back Derrius Guice, who suffered an injury in last week’s loss to Mississippi State, won’t play Saturday against Syracuse, Tigers coach Ed Orgeron said Wednesday night.
On his weekly radio show, Orgeron said Guice was “getting better” but still would not play against the Orange. Earlier in the day, during the SEC coaches’ teleconference, Orgeron had termed Guice “very questionable” for the game.
Guice has rushed for 300 yards and four touchdowns this season.
After last week’s 37-7 loss to Mississippi State, Guice said that he was a “little nicked,” apparently the result of an injury while being caught up in a pile during the third quarter against the Bulldogs.
