The Dylan Crews era is upon us.
Crews, the greatest baseball player in LSU’s storied history, is reportedly getting the call up to join the Washington Nationals. Crews will join the Nats Monday night in D.C. as the club opens up a three-game series with the New York Yankees.
Crews was taken second overall by the Nationals in last summer’s MLB Draft, just behind his former LSU teammate Paul Skenes. Crews won the 2023 Golden Spikes Award and hasn’t missed a beat against minor league competition.
In June Crews was promoted to Washington’s Triple-A affiliate, the Rochester Red Wings, and across all minor league levels this season he has 107 hits, 13 homers, has scored 60 runs and stolen 25 bases.
