BATON ROUGE – LSU's Richard Dempsey has been named the Region 1 Administrator of the Year, the Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA) announced Wednesday.
Dempsey served as the meet manager for LSU Gymnastics for six years before being named the assistant athletic director for athletic event and facility operations at Wake Forest in March.
"Richard is without a doubt the most thoughtful and detail-oriented event manager I have ever worked with," LSU gymnastics head coach Jay Clark said. "He is patient and creative in his problem-solving efforts. His consideration for others involved in the process, sets him apart in ways that make him a joy to work with.
