Damone Clark had the best game of his LSU career in Saturday’s 28-25 win over Mississippi State and his performance made him the SEC’s defensive player of the week.
Clark had a career-high 15 tackles and also recovered a fumble and returned it 35 yards, setting up the LSU offense to score its opening touchdown.
“I’m proud of the way our team fought,” Clark said after the game. “We fought to the end. I can’t be any more proud.”
“Damone is a great young man, a smart young man,” Ed Orgeron said Monday in his weekly meeting with reporters.
