Whoever starts at nickel cornerback for LSU might as well be considered the 11th starter in Dave Aranda's defense.
In LSU's 12 games last season, Tre'Davious White or Dwayne Thomas started at nickel with LSU's defense on the first series in nine games. The Tigers only opened up with a traditional 3-4 defense with four linebackers on the field in three games.
That fits in with what Ed Orgeron told reporters on Wednesday night regarding how much LSU will use the nickel position.
"As you know, we play 85 percent nickel," Orgeron said. "That guy does a lot.
