The Cleveland Browns made official Friday what was known to be coming for quite some time: They waived quarterback Johnny Manziel.
The waiver had been expected since he skipped the final regular season game after he was ruled out with a concussion, and was later discovered to have been in Las Vegas the night before the game.
That was only the one in a string of incidents to involve Manziel in the two seasons since the Browns picked him with the No. 22 overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft.
He played college football at Texas A&M and won the Heisman Trophy as a redshirt freshman in 2012.
