After all the offseason drama and rumors, the Cincinnati Bengals managed to not screw up the 2020 NFL Draft — they did the right thing and selected LSU football’s Joe Burrow with the first overall pick.
Of course, there was little doubt the Bengals would do anything but take Burrow. Cincinnati desperately needs a quarterback and Burrow was easily the best quarterback available in the draft.
Burrow will obviously have high expectations immediately. There’s been as much hype placed on him as any quarterback in the last 30 years.
Expectations, however, should be tempered. The Bengals were in a position to select Burrow because they had a terrible 2019 season.
