Now that the regular season has concluded and tournament play looms, the SEC handed out its annual awards and three Tigers were honored as some of the conference’s best basketball players.
Cam Thomas picked up a pair of post season accolades, being named the conference’s Newcomer of the Year and was a unanimous First-Team All-SEC selection. Thomas, the five-star prospect out of Virginia, has been better than advertised, averaging 23.1 points per game, good for fourth in the nation.
Thomas was labeled as a scoring machine coming out of Oak Hill Academy and showed that in his first game wearing the purple and gold, scoring 27 points in the season opener against SIU-Edwardsville.
