As expected on Thursday night, the Philadelphia 76ers made LSU's Ben Simmons the No. 1 pick in the 2016 NBA Draft.
Simmons becomes the second LSU player to go No. 1 overall in the NBA Draft joining Shaquille O'Neal who was selected by the Orlando Magic with the top overall pick in 1992. He's the first player selected No. 1 overall by the 76ers since Allen Iverson in 1996.
"This is amazing," Simmons said on the ESPN Draft broadcast. "It's a great city and I'm looking forward to get to Philly. It feels good. I feel relaxed and I feel comfortable with the system.
