With the beginning of the college basketball season just weeks away, the first AP Top 25 poll has been released. As could be expected, the much-hyped LSU basketball team has made the initial rankings, coming in at No. 21.
It was the first time since the end of the 2008-2009 season that the Tigers found themselves ranked in the AP Top 25.
That team climbed as high as No. 12 in the polls, making the NCAA Tournament as a No. 8 seed after winning the SEC regular season title. LSU defeated Butler in the first round before being bounced by North Carolina, who would go on to win the national championship.
