Al Pacino as Joe Paterno coming to HBO: Report

The Jerry Sandusky sexual abuse scandal is coming to HBO with legendary actor Al Pacino cast as Penn State head football coach Joe Paterno in a movie directed by Barry Levinson, according to Variety.

The official logline for the film reads: "After becoming the winningest coach in college football history, Joe Paterno is embroiled in Penn State's Jerry Sandusky sexual abuse scandal, challenging his legacy and forcing him to face questions of institutional failure on behalf of the victims."

Paterno, the winningest coach in FBS history, saw his career come to an abrupt end in 2011 when assistant coach Sandusky's crimes were revealed.
